Overview

A Place For Zero is a classic Mathematics story book using narrative to teach the concept of number. A great read for either very young students being introduced to numbers from 1 to 10 or students in Years 1 or 2 learning to add and multiply by zero.

First published in 1995 this story is set in Digitaria and follows Zero quest to find value and a way to be included in the game of Addemup. A very clever way to introduce the concept of 10 and ensure students will remember the concepts covered.

We have made 6 activities for this book split into both very simple pre-school and Kindergarten level activities and those for Years 1 or 2 students. These include a simple matching numbers to images activity, a colour by number, making a mobius strip like Count Infinity, 2 number machine worksheets to add and multiply numbers and a simple multiplication sheet to solve a number riddle.
