Overview
Winner of the CBCA 2021 Book of the Year for Younger Readers this is the story of eleven-year-old Aster and the good, right things she must do every day. It is a story of the friendship between Aster and Xavier, of belonging and acceptance. Yet it is also a story about mental health and the challenges many children face in today society.
We have created 5 activities for this book designed for students from Years 5 to 8. They include how to draw a bunny rabbit like Hollyhock or Daenerys; exploring the good, right deeds Aster does; a fun flower find-a-word; a comprehension about depression and a book summary using the good, right deeds at the start of each chapter.
