Overview

This 2024 CBCA notable Picture Book is another gorgeous collage illustration book from award winning author illustrator Jeannie Baker. This story follows Chico’s visit to his grandpa’s ranch in the Sonoran Desert which is in the hottest part of Mexico. An exploration of a shift from addiction to devices to a love of the outdoors and nature this story follows Chico’s development from his fear of desert jungle to wonder at its natural offerings.
