Overview

This CBCA 2024 notable book is the true story of Kathleen Howell and Jean Robertson who, in 1928, travelled 2824kms across Australia from Perth to Adelaide in two days, nine hours and 57 minutes. They broke the land speed record by five hours and the ceiling for expectations of women. Both being qualified air pilots and Jean a mechanic they were able to fix the car enroute and plot a course where roads often did not exist.
