Overview

This 2023 CBCA notable Eve Pownall Award book is a colourful look at people, their body parts and the fact that everybody is different. A very basic way to share with children who are curious about their bodies that males and females have different body parts although in today’s society with the wonders of medicine this can sometimes be blurred as both gender and physical attributes become fluid.

The activities for this book are designed for children in Pre-school, Kindergarten / Preparatory or Year 1 as they learn about themselves, who they are and what makes them special but also just like everyone else. The activities do definitely lean towards binary gender identification as many schools still have single sex toilets and gender specific uniforms.
