Overview

Hello Lighthouse is written and illustrated by Caldecott Medal Winner Sophie Blackall. With beautiful imagery and the use of repetitive text this story follows a young light housekeeper through the seasons and the years. It is an easy way to teach children about the isolated life or a Light House Keeper and the many struggles they faced in this demanding role. It is also a chance to look at modernisation and what that means for individuals as technology makes jobs obsolete and whether that is a positive or a negative change.
