Overview
This 2023 CBCA notable Eve Pownall Award book is a story about a bird which is unlike any other bird on Earth. Critically endangered due to habitat loss and predator attacks this book explores the many quirks of this species and what is being done to try to ensure its ongoing survival.
The activities for this book are designed for students in Stage 3 or above as they explore the scientific language of the text, ask students to create a poster about the Plains-wanderer, provides step-by-step instructions to draw the Plains-wanderer and asks learners to get involved in identifying animals in their local area.
