Overview
This 2023 CBCA notable Eve Pownall Award book is the junior version of the New York Times best-selling The Happiest Man on Earth. A brief tale of Eddie Jaku’s life and his survival of Nazi occupied Germany, detention in multiple concentration camps and finally being reunited with his sister Henni and best friend Kurt before establishing the Sydney Jewish Museum.
The activities for this book are designed for older children from Years 5 and upwards as they retell the events of the story in order, explore what happiness means to them and learn about the Sydney Jewish Museum.
