We Are The Water Protectors Book Activities Games
Overview
Inspired by the many Indigenous-led movements across North America, We Are Water Protectors issues an urgent rallying cry to safeguard the Earth water from harm and corruption. The activities we have made for this book are designed to be used with students from Years 3 to 6 and look at what the Oil Pipeline is and what it does, where our fresh water comes from and what water polluted by chemicals does when it enters the environment as acid rain.
There is a poster design showing that each student is pledging to protect those who cannot protect themselves, a look at how much water students consume as it is the"first medicine" and a final activity to create a relief artwork similar to those that Michaela Goade made for the book which won her the Caldecott award.
