Overview
This 2023 notable Eve Pownall Award book is a clever way of teaching young children about reproduction and where they came from. Providing both a scientific explanation and an opportunity to show the similarities and differences between the way mammals, such as humans are born, and reptiles, trees or marsupials develop.
The activities for this book are aimed at children both just before they start school or in their first year of school. They include sorting animals by their birth, a maze, a cut and paste activity and a find a word to learn about mammals.
If you would like to do something a little more active why not visit a farm and collect eggs to show students this method of animal development or visit a zoo and see how baby animals are the same as their parents just smaller.
