About Book Week
Since 1945, the Children's Book Council of Australia (CBCA) has brought together children and books to celebrate Book Week and shine a light on Australian authors and illustrators.
Book Week 2024 is a time for schools, libraries, booksellers, authors, illustrators and children to celebrate Australian children's literature. Our CBCA Book Week activities make it easy to provide fun literacy activities before and after your Book Week Parade and focus exclusively on this years theme.
The Book Week 2024 theme "Reading is Magic" was created by the featured artist Jess Racklyeft. We have made activities to help you celebrate this theme and bring it to life for your children. Our goal is to help make Book Week fun and to support you with quality teacher authored book resources that support the themes of book week 2024 and extend the fun of reading all of the Shortlisted and Notable books for your young learners.
